(Sun)Bathing

The outdoor bathroom must be one of the greatest things about living in Wadi Rum: you can brush your teeth in the morning sun.

Rainy and grey

This looks a lot like Finnish fall, but actually pics are taken from the window of Baalbek-Beirut -minibus coming down from the mountains last spring.

Stop Solidere

Right next to Hariri's statue and memorial, St. George Hotel is fighting to stop the company founded by Hariri.

Stroll on the corniche

Once again the Beirut seaside promenade suprised me: The tanning granpas beckoned me to join and the pastry men gave me a bite.

Of the prophets

I can only guess the nature of this text somebody had burnt at the Mount of Olives.

One frame, many views

Jerusalem, definitely one of the most controversial cities in the world.

Salt into wounds

From afar this salt rock seashore looked like snow and ice.

Day slowly floated away

Our chalet was right next to a deserted and peaceful beach by the Dead Sea end of Wadi Mujib.

Some climbing

We went as high as we could.

No climbing

The dude in the sign has a weird way of climbing.

Red sunset

Wadi Rum is also called the Valley of the Moon, but especially before the sunset it gets so red that it looks more like Mars.

Petra by night

Almost 2000 candles, bedouin music and some (very sweet) tea. If only they'd let you go beyond the Treasury...

One hump wonders

Only recently I learned that all the camels in Wadi Rum are one-humped Arabian dromedary camels (camelus dromedarius).

I've seen the end of the world

It wasn't what I expected at all.

Aqaba by night

This time we stayed in a tiny hotel room in Aqaba City. The view at night was very different from South Beach.

Colonnaded

Jerash (Gerasa of Antiquity) is one of the largest and best preserved Roman city in the Middle East.

The Sea of Salt

But I wonder: if you just keep floating, could you eventually end up on the the other side of the Dead Sea?
