Surrounded

In this house in Bethlehem, surrounded on three sides by the wall, lives a Christian Palestinian family. They described their way of life as being in "an open-air prison".

Which way to East Berlin?

There have been, are and will be more separation barriers somewhat like the one in the West Bank. This does not mean it's right.

Banksy in Bethlehem

We found three of his street art pieces in Bethlehem, though only one of them was on the the actual separation barrier and others on different walls. There are plenty more Banksy graffiti in the West Bank / Palestine.

King's shoes

Exactly a year ago Jordan's King Abdullah said he would step down if he was in Assad's shoes (see video). Hopefully it never gets to that point.

King under my shoes

I found this king on the ground in Amman already early in the spring, so it can't be taken as a sign of Abdullah II's fate.

Stupidness is no excuse

Today, once again, it feels like the world's gone crazy. Gaza, Syria and now also Jordan in my mind: stay safe.

Made in USA

Or maybe not made in, but at least sponsored by.

It doesn't matter whether the wall is in Facebook or in the West Bank as long as the message reaches its audience.

Hazard: IDF ahead

At first I didn't even realize that this warning sign of IDF soldiers was not real but made by a local artist from Ramallah.

Girl with a gun

Liberation fighter Leila Khaled has gained the status of a poster girl of Palestinian armed struggle. She was not too happy with this pin-up position and had 6 plastic surgeries in order not to wear a face of a hijacker / an icon.

Free(style) Palestine

No matter the style, most of the messages on the separation wall in Bethlehem are about freedom and ending the occupation.

B-day genocide

24th of April is an Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day and my birthday. (pic from the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem)

White from white from the Holy Land

The Salesian Monastery and its Cremisan Cellars have filed legal actions against the land grab and separation wall by the Israeli occupation.

Of the prophets

I can only guess the nature of this text somebody had burnt at the Mount of Olives.

A wall separating from the massacre

Thumb of the Patriarchs / Ibrahim Mosque, holy for both but deadly only on the other side.

H1 - H2 wall

The separation wall in Hebron is small but effective.

Freedom walls

I don't know what the last one says, but I bet it's not something the Israeli settlers in Hebron would appreciate.

Let us learn

Kids still play and go to school in Hebron. There is still hope.

Shuhada street

Palestinians are barred from using Shuhada street, Hebron's former main commercial thoroughfare. Even if they live on it

On top of the conflict

From the rooftop of our local friend from Hebron one can see it all: H1 , H2 and Kiryat Arba. We drank coffee and felt sad.
