Found in translation

In the Arabic-speaking countries I often got lost in translation. In Amman I also once found myself in it.

Which way to East Berlin?

There have been, are and will be more separation barriers somewhat like the one in the West Bank. This does not mean it's right.

Banksy in Bethlehem

We found three of his street art pieces in Bethlehem, though only one of them was on the the actual separation barrier and others on different walls. There are plenty more Banksy graffiti in the West Bank / Palestine.

Palestinian Space Agency

I found this ripped sticker of PSA in downtown Amman. It turned out that PSA is an interesting art project.

Stupidness is no excuse

Today, once again, it feels like the world's gone crazy. Gaza, Syria and now also Jordan in my mind: stay safe.

Made in USA

Or maybe not made in, but at least sponsored by.

Private Property

One rarely sees so many things being forbidden as in this sign in the middle of Beirut. Most of them make sense, but what about the one with the dollar sign?

Write on wall

It doesn't matter whether the wall is in Facebook or in the West Bank as long as the message reaches its audience.

Stay human

There is no other way.

Hazard: IDF ahead

At first I didn't even realize that this warning sign of IDF soldiers was not real but made by a local artist from Ramallah.

Free(style) Palestine

No matter the style, most of the messages on the separation wall in Bethlehem are about freedom and ending the occupation.

Fuc life

The separation wall is not the only depressing wall in Bethlehem.

Cocacolonization

Even though the claims of the company logo being defamatory to Islam are not true, it's hard to see the benefits of cocacolonization  (كوكا كولا = coca-cola) in the Middle East. (first photo from Amman, second from Hebron)

B-day genocide

24th of April is an Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day and my birthday. (pic from the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem)

No guns or explanations allowed

At least not inside the church.

Enter as a tourist

And I exited as one as well.

Silence

Without seeming to realize, she was mimicking the finger gesture when looking at it.

Why so serious?

There definitely are a lot of reasons to be concerned.

Riot

This guy did not seem to be too bothered by the threat hanging over him.

Of the prophets

I can only guess the nature of this text somebody had burnt at the Mount of Olives.
