Office, unofficially

FIME is moving to Beirut. As I have no pictures of the office premises, these two will have to do as a memorial: Our cute pink bathroom and my favorite way to spend my lunch break, watching a satirical Finnish animation series Pasila.

Riot

This guy did not seem to be too bothered by the threat hanging over him.

Fishy business

Something smells fishy in this stand in Mahane Yehuda.

Special stuff

One can find curious things from Mahane Yehuda.

Sugarcoated

Sugar rushing through Mahane Yehuda Market in Jerusalem. I guess there's no harm in trying to sweeten things up a little.

Best of both worlds

Lunch break in Petra with ayran (or shenina as it's called in here) from Amman & rye bread and a good friend from Finland.

Fruits & veggies

Not only the boys but also the men selling fruits and vegetables are very friendly in Abdali. And their products are amazing!

Juice 'n' smile

Vitamins and happiness to go.

Garden party

There is a little community garden next to our house. The first crop was collected and the food made out of it was excellent.

My first ever fortune cookie

"Count only on yourself (tomorrow) and you will be rewarded", it said. I'll take the advice and run with it.

Bday cake

There is a famous Finnish proverb about cakes that are pretty but don't have nice fillings. This cake was the opposite.

Tea time

I've spent a lot of time in this cafe lately. I love the way they serve the tea, and their salads are (expensive but) decent.

Happy eggs

These eggs are free-range & happy chickens -guaranteed. Maybe we should also get a cow..

Ancient apple

Byblos is believed to be more than 7000 years old. But that still does not give them the right to serve old food.

Breakfast on top

The best place to have breakfast in Amman is the sunny rooftop terrace of my new home.

Red makes me happy

Pomegranate (rumman - رمان) is definitely my favorite fruit. Just wish it was a little bit easier to peel and eat...

Did somebody try to bread him?

Chicks in the sun

This was a special little picnic lunch out in the sun. A lot of chickpeas and the company of a good friend - it was perfect.

Big fish

Our dinner was 5kg of Iraqi style fish, Masgouf. Simple but absolutely delicious.

Boys of Abdali

Abdali market must be my new favorite place in Amman. Here's a sneak peek with some of the cutest sellers in there.
