Bday cake
There is a famous Finnish proverb about cakes that are pretty but don't have nice fillings. This cake was the opposite.
Happy No Driving Day
Still haven't found a bike, still not loving the taxis, still not going to get a car.
Tea time
I've spent a lot of time in this cafe lately. I love the way they serve the tea, and their salads are (expensive but) decent.
Face in Place 2
He seems sad to me. Maybe because people step on him all the time.
One of the blue ones
For me The Blue Mosque is Sultan Ahmed Mosque in Istanbul, but King Abdullah I Mosque is also very blue and beautiful.
Carnivore airlines
We flew from DXB to Amman, me and a plane full of meat. Don't ask why.
Discovery Gardens
60 000 inhabitants live in the biscuit box houses of Discovery Gardens (residential area consisting of 26 million square feet).
Night lights
In Dubai the bars and nightclubs are in hotels. Comparing to the hotel bars I've been to before, these were quite impressive.
Superlatives in Dubai
Of course we went to see the world's tallest building Burj Khalifa (
829.84 m) and the largest mall (with its own ice rink).
Happy eggs
These eggs are free-range & happy chickens -guaranteed. Maybe we should also get a cow..
The real hot yoga
Under the burning sun of Wadi Rum these people took the idea of hot yoga to another level.
Walls of Wadi Rum
If only I would've been able to go up, either by climbing or just for the photos. Maybe next time.
Red sea sunset
Sun in Aqaba is hotter than in Amman, and goes down to the sea with some style.
Getting the finger
Is the scarecrow flipping me of or what? You don't see a lot of street art in Amman, so you take what you get.
Walls that repeat
Stencil graffiti is very popular in Beirut. Here are some of the ones I saw all the time (and could somewhat understand).
